Name:  Kelsie Foster
School:  Miami University
Major:  Special Education
Dogs fostered:  5

I got involved with 4 Paws for Ability’s University Program my first year at Miami and have been fostering ever since! I just received my 5th foster through the program and am so excited to see where her future takes her. Fostering through the University Program has not only opened my eyes to the impact service dogs can make on the lives of their handlers, but has allowed me to spread awareness of service dogs throughout my community. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to watch two of my previous fosters, Lingo and Priscilla, graduate and get placed as working service dogs, and they have been the greatest days of my life. Give back days are hard, and they always will be, but I would go through a thousand of them for the chance to see the bond families make with one another and their new service dogs on graduation day. I’m so thankful to be part of an organization that is continually impacting lives on a daily basis, and I hope to continue fostering as long as possible!

Names: Kacie Lang and Sarah Wikum
School:  Miami University
Major: Public Health and Speech Pathology
Dogs fostered: 2

4 Paws for Ability University Program allowed me to work with an amazing organization and meet my best friend! My co-foster and I bonded over our love for dogs and helping kids and people with disabilities, as we both hope to be therapists! This program has been one of the most influential parts of college for both of us and we both plan to be involved long after graduation. It truly has our hearts.
