Morgan Toth

Hi, my name is Morgan Grace Toth.  I am 13 years old and in the 6th grade. I love riding my bike, swimming and playing with my sisters and friends. I am a two-time brain cancer survivor; I have a Rare genetic disorder called Gorlins Syndrome which is a condition that can affect multiple areas of the body and also increases my risk of developing different types of cancerous and non-cancerous tumors.

During March of this year, I was diagnosed with Epilepsy.  When I was seven months old, I was diagnosed with brain cancer. My eye doctor had noticed that something was wrong with my eye, the doctor sent me to get an MRI, and when I did that was when the doctors found the tumor, and that tumor turned out to be cancerous, and that was when I had my first brain surgery at seven months old. I was diagnosed with a type of cancer called Desmoplastic medulloblastoma. I had chemotherapy at 7 months old and again at 3 years old due to relapse.

During that time, I also had 2 experimental protocols done along with stem cell therapy. I’ve had 21 surgeries, 6 of them have been for my brain.  Back in the year of 2015 I was diagnosed with Gorlins Syndrome. March of this year I was diagnosed with epilepsy, due to all of the surgeries, scar tissue, and chemotherapy. I am currently 9 ½ years cancer free. I still go to the hospital for MRI scans and checkups. The seizures occur while I am asleep at night, however, there is also that chance of having a seizure at any point of the day and not knowing it. I have a health para at school and would love to get a service dog because it would give my family and I peace of mind knowing that the service dog will be able to sense the chemical change in my body and alert when I am about to have a seizure. Having a dog will give me the chance of companionship and not feeling isolated.

It costs 4 Paws between $40,000-60,000 to raise and properly train a service dog for each person.  Families pay a fee for service that only represents a small portion of that total cost.  If you would like to assist a Morgan with her fee for service, you can make a donation in one of the following ways:
