Hi All. We are the Auten Family.
In 2006 God blessed Tim (dad) and myself, Dawn (mom) with a sweet little boy that we named Tyler. Just 2 short years later, he was diagnosed with Autism and our life was significantly changed. Tyler is sweet and adorable, loves legos and riding in our jeep.
Also, he is an excellent escape artist (which is common among those on the autism spectrum). He has wondered off after eloping from our house, of course we freaked because we didn’t know where he went. But, we did know that he LOVES water.
HOWEVER, Zephyr, our Autism Assistance and Seizure Alert Dog, is an excellent search and rescue dog. He found Tyler within minutes! If it hadn’t been for Zephyr, who knows how this would have turned out. Zephyr has worked hard for his boy (Tyler) and is truly a part of our family. But, he (Zephyr) is getting old and will need to retire someday. We are fundraising to get another Service Dog for Tyler.
It costs at least $46,000 to specially train a dog for Tyler. Families cover only a portion of that cost. We are fundraising to help cover the fee required to provide him with a life-changing service dog.
Please join us in our goal – to raise $8500 by Christmas! It will be an amazing Christmas present to be able to tell Tyler that his new Service Dog is ready to be trained! We’d love to have you as part of our 4 Paws for Tyler team! To follow Tyler and Zephyr please go to facebook.com/4pawsfortyler
