Emma has had her faithful dog Bubbles by her side for the last 10 years, where he has kept her safe, calmed her, and made life better every day for Emma and her family. Emma is non-verbal (so she can’t tell anyone her name or where she lives) and she is developmentally a toddler, with NO sense of safety. Words can not express how much Bubbles has improved our lives. He has tracked Emma when she wandered away—including once when we were on vacation in a large city, where she had gone around the block and through the hole in fence of a vacant house to play on the swing set. Bubbles took her mom directly to her, and we know that if we had not had him, we would have had a massive police search. He has kept her safe from wandering away, and he has shown her the unconditional love and acceptance that only a dog can offer.
However, Bubbles is getting old, and it is time for Emma to get a new best friend. We are asking for your help to raise the $8,500 needed for her new dog.
It costs at least $46,000 to specially train a dog for Emma. Families cover only a portion of that cost. We are fundraising to help cover the fee required to provide her with a life-changing service dog.
Donations in support of Emma should be made directly to 4 Paws for Ability – be sure to write Emma Walker on the memo line. Mail checks to:
